Cookie policy

This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies and loads no third-party trackers. It only stores your own choices: the one you make in the privacy panel and, if you use it, the video and animation pause. Here is what that means and how to control it.

In short: what this site uses

As of the latest update, this website sets no analytics, advertising or social media cookies and loads no third-party tracking scripts. Even so, on your first visit you will see a privacy panel: accepting or rejecting installs nothing today, and your choice will already be applied if we ever switch on analytics or advertising.

  • No analytics: we do not use Google Analytics or any similar measurement tool.
  • No advertising: there are no pixels from Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, LinkedIn or any other platform.
  • No embedded third-party content: no maps, videos or social buttons load from other servers.
  • Fonts served from our own server: your browser does not connect to Google Fonts or any other external service to display them.
  • Two local preferences: your choice in the privacy panel and, only if you use the pause button, the video and animation one.

What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser to remember information between pages or visits. Similar technologies include the browser's local storage (localStorage), tracking pixels and device fingerprinting.

Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE applies to all of them equally: any technology that stores or reads information on your device needs your informed consent, unless it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have expressly requested or to transmit a communication.

Types of cookies

Cookies are usually classified in three ways:

  • By who manages them: first-party, if set by the site owner, or third-party, if set by another organisation (an analytics or advertising platform, for example).
  • By purpose: technical, preference or personalisation, analytics or measurement, and behavioural advertising.
  • By duration: session cookies, deleted when you close the browser, or persistent cookies, kept for a set period.

What this site stores on your device

This is the inventory of what the site itself stores in your browser today. If our hosting provider ever needed a technical security cookie, we would add it to this list.

  • serman-consent · first-party browser local storage (localStorage); not a cookie and never sent to any server. Purpose: remembers your choice in the privacy panel (analytics and marketing, yes or no) so we do not ask again on every page. It is created when you press “Accept all”, “Reject” or “Save selection” and expires after 12 months, when we ask you again. Content: your two choices and the date; no identifier and no personal data.
  • serman-motion · first-party browser local storage (localStorage); not a cookie and never sent to any server. Purpose: remembers whether you have paused the videos and animations with the “Pause video and animations” button, so your choice is respected on later pages and visits. It is only created when you press that button and stays until you clear this site's data in your browser. Content: just the value “on” or “off”.

Why you do not need to accept anything

The Spanish Data Protection Agency's guide on the use of cookies (AEPD, current version) treats strictly necessary technologies as exempt from consent. It also exempts preference technologies when users choose the setting themselves (a language, for example), because that counts as a service they have expressly requested. Both preferences fit those descriptions: they are created by your action, serve only that purpose, identify no one and are not shared with third parties. Storing your privacy choice is also necessary in order to respect it.

If your operating system has the reduce motion setting switched on, the site also respects it automatically, without storing anything on your device.

From the first page load, the site sets Google's consent mode (Consent Mode v2) defaults with analytics, advertising and personalisation storage denied, and only changes them when you decide in the panel. This instruction lives in the page's memory while you view it: it stores nothing on your device, loads no Google service and sends no data to anyone. It means that any tool added in the future starts by respecting your decision.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, as easily as you gave it: press “Cookie settings” in the footer of any page, set the switches and press “Save selection”, or choose “Reject”. You can also clear this site's data in your browser: on your next visit, the panel will ask you again.

If we add analytics or advertising in future

If we add analytics or advertising tools that use non-exempt cookies, we will follow the AEPD guide and update this policy before switching them on. The privacy panel already works this way, and you can change your choice at any time from “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page. It is the same standard we apply to analytics and tracking and web design projects for our clients. In practice, that means:

  • A cookie notice with “Accept” and “Reject” buttons in the same layer, at the same level and in an equivalent format.
  • No non-exempt cookie is activated before you give your consent.
  • Settings grouped by purpose (analytics and advertising, for example), so you only accept what you want.
  • No cookie walls: you can keep browsing in exactly the same way if you reject.
  • Withdrawing consent will be as easy as giving it, through a permanent link in the footer.
  • We will ask for your consent again no later than 24 months after you give it, the limit the AEPD considers good practice.
  • If we use Google tools, we will apply Consent Mode v2 so their tags respect your choice.
  • A table listing each cookie's name, owner, purpose and duration, with information on any international data transfers.

Managing cookies in your browser

Although this site uses no cookies that require consent, you can control the cookies and data any website stores through your browser settings: view them, delete them, block them or allow them only on certain sites. Bear in mind that blocking all cookies may stop other websites from working properly.

To clear the motion preference, delete this site's data in your browser; the option is usually called “Cookies and site data” or something similar. You will find these settings in the following menus:

  • Google Chrome (desktop and Android): Settings > Privacy and security.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security.
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions.
  • Safari on Mac: Safari > Settings > Privacy.
  • Safari on iPhone and iPad: Settings > Safari (in recent versions of iOS, Settings > Apps > Safari).

The site links to external services, such as Google Maps, which you can open from our address in the footer and on the contact page. Those services only load if you follow the link, which opens in a new tab; from that point on, their own cookie and privacy policies apply, and we have no control over them. The same applies to the WhatsApp button: it opens wa.me, a Meta service, only when you tap it.

Updates to this policy

We will review this policy whenever what the site stores on or reads from your device changes. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page. If you have any questions, email info@serman.agency or read our privacy policy.
