Local SEO in Mallorca that puts you on the map

Local SEO in Mallorca helps your business appear in Google Maps and the local pack when people nearby search for what you offer. We optimise your Google Business Profile, reviews, data and local pages for Palma de Mallorca, the rest of the island, Ibiza and Menorca.

What it is

What local SEO is, and who it's for

Local SEO makes a business visible in searches with nearby intent, such as “physio in Palma de Mallorca”, “restaurant near me” or “English academy in Inca”. It combines your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business), reviews, consistent details and a website with useful local pages.

It's for you if you have premises or serve an area of the Balearics: restaurants, clinics, shops, academies or professional firms. In Mallorca, some customers are also international residents or visitors searching in English, and demand shifts with the season.

We plan around three factors: relevance, distance and prominence. The searcher's distance is fixed; the other two can be improved. This service covers the map and your profile, coordinated with SEO across your site.

In depth

A Google Business Profile that's genuinely complete

An optimised profile answers everything customers need to choose you, without a phone call. We fill every field with real information and keep it active:

  • Name: your real business name, as on your signage and invoices, with no added keywords.
  • Categories: one precise primary category; secondary ones only for real services.
  • Services, products and attributes: clearly described, with accessibility, payment and booking options.
  • Opening hours: regular, special and seasonal, checked before every change.
  • Photos and posts: current images of the premises and team, plus regular news and offers.

From the map to AI answers

Your profile no longer just feeds the map: Google's guide to AI search says Business Profiles also help businesses appear in AI responses.

Since December 2025, profile Q&A has given way to a Gemini-powered Ask feature that answers from your profile, reviews, photos and website: if a detail isn't there, the AI can't get it right.

So we coordinate your profile with AEO and GEO. Ask Maps, Gemini inside Maps, expanded in English to over 150 countries and territories in August 2026; as of October 2026, its availability in Spain and in Spanish is unconfirmed.

In depth

Genuine reviews, managed by the rules

Reviews shape prominence and customer decisions, and the only sustainable approach is asking every customer honestly. We never buy reviews, pick who gets asked or offer hidden incentives.

In Search, rules have tightened too: from April 2026 Google can use spam reports for manual actions, and from July 2026 its review snippet guidelines, for star ratings marked up on websites, rule out fake and undisclosed incentivised reviews.

We set up a simple system: when and where to ask, human-reviewed replies and alerts so every review, critical ones included, gets a timely answer. Deeper work sits within online reputation management.

In depth

Consistent data and one page per real location

Details that match everywhere make a business easier for Google and AI to understand: an identical name, address and phone number (NAP) across your profile, website, social channels and key directories prevents confusion and duplicates.

Each real location gets its own page: address, hours, directions and parking, services, team and local questions, with LocalBusiness markup for a genuine address. Our web design team builds them.

We never build near-identical pages that only swap the place name, say from Manacor to Ciutadella: Google's spam policies target that kind of low-value content. English versions are written natively and linked with hreflang; for several markets, we add international SEO.

High season, low season: a profile that moves with you

In the Balearics, your profile has to follow the business calendar: outdated low-season hours send people to a closed door and invite avoidable bad reviews.

As a local SEO agency in Palma de Mallorca, we plan special hours, closures, openings, offers, events and photos for each season well ahead: before summer for visitors, in winter for residents.

Full optimisation, NAP fixed and duplicates or verification issues resolved.

  3. Phase 03 / 05

    Local website

Location pages and their markup, in both languages.

    Reviews and posts

Review system and seasonal calendar up and running.

The SERMAN approach

Why do local SEO with SERMAN

  1. We know the island

We work from Palma de Mallorca around the Balearic calendar: the season, international residents and visitors searching before they arrive.

  2. Rules before shortcuts

Genuine reviews, unpadded names and pages with real substance: no shortcuts that put your profile at risk.

  3. Profile, site and AI in one plan

Profile, website and AI answers, worked on together with consistent data.

What it is not

What we don't do in local SEO

  • We don't guarantee the top spot on Google Maps: the searcher's distance matters and nobody controls it.
  • We don't buy reviews, ask only happy customers or offer hidden incentives.
  • We don't add keywords to your business name or create profiles where you don't serve customers.
  • We don't remove legitimate reviews: we only report those that break Google's policies.

What we measure

The local SEO indicators we track

We measure what people do with your profile and site, not isolated rankings.

  1. Profile actions

Calls, direction requests, website clicks, messages and bookings, from Business Profile performance.

  2. Searches that show you

The queries that surface you on Maps and Search, plus local queries in Search Console.

  3. Map visibility by area

Your position across a grid of points: where you appear and where you don't.

  4. Reviews

Volume, pace, average rating and response time.

  5. Conversions from the profile

Visits and enquiries tagged and measured in your analytics.

Who it's for

A particularly good fit if…

  • You run a restaurant, clinic, hotel, shop, academy or gym open to the public.
  • You visit customers at home or at work within a service area.
  • You have several sites across Mallorca, Ibiza or Menorca.
  • Many of your customers are international residents or visitors searching in English.
  • Competitors show up on the map and you don't, or your reviews don't reflect how you work.

Compliance

Rules and policies we follow

Applied by default; not a substitute for legal advice.

  1. Google review policies

No fake, bought or covertly incentivised reviews, on your profile or website; for websites, Google's review snippet guidelines have covered this since July 2026.

  2. Business Profile guidelines

Real name, genuine address or service area, one profile per location and categories that describe what you do.

  3. Privacy in replies

Replies never confirm a customer's personal details, which is especially sensitive in health and wellness.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I rank first on Google Maps?

Nobody can guarantee it, because ranking also depends on where the searcher is. What helps: a complete, verified profile with the right category, genuine reviews with replies, consistent details and useful local pages. That's the core of local SEO in Mallorca.

How do I optimise my Google Business Profile?

Pick a precise primary category; complete services, products, hours, attributes and description; add current photos and post regularly. Use your real business name, reply to every review and measure the actions your profile drives.

How do I create and verify my Google Business Profile?

Create it in Google Business Profile with a company account, adding your name, category and address or service area. Google then asks you to verify it with the method it assigns; we guide you, and ownership stays with your company.

What happened to Q&A on Google Business Profile?

Google discontinued the Q&A API on 3 November 2025 and, from December 2025, replaced the public section with a Gemini-powered Ask feature that answers from your profile, reviews, photos and website. So those sources need to be complete and accurate.

Can negative Google reviews be removed?

Only those that break Google's policies, such as fake, spam or offensive reviews; you report them from the profile and follow up. A legitimate negative review stays: reply calmly and fix the problem.

Do I need a Google profile without street-level premises?

Yes, if you serve customers in person, even at their home or workplace: the profile is then based on the area you cover rather than an address. If you never meet customers in person, your website's SEO does the work.

How long does it take to improve Google Maps rankings?

Profile changes such as categories or hours usually show within days or weeks; prominence, built through reviews, mentions and a strong website, takes months. Seasonal businesses should start well before summer.
