A marine marketing agency for the companies that keep superyachts running

We are a marine marketing agency based in Palma de Mallorca, working with refit and repair yards, marine technology firms, crew agencies, provisioning and technical service companies. Our work makes you easier for captains, engineers and yacht managers to find, verify and shortlist: in search, in AI answers, on LinkedIn and in the trade press.

Context

How yacht professionals choose a supplier in 2026

Marine industry marketing is B2B marketing for a small, mobile and well-connected audience: the captains, chief engineers, yacht managers and owners' representatives who choose a refit yard, a paint contractor, a crew agency or a provisioning company. They decide on trust, and look for evidence of it before sending an enquiry.

Discovery still starts with a recommendation: a colleague on the dock, a previous yard period, a name in a crew group chat. What has changed is the checking. In 2026 that name is searched on Google, put to ChatGPT or Gemini, looked up on LinkedIn and compared with alternatives, often from another country and months before the yacht arrives.

The decision is rarely one person's. A captain proposes, a management company approves and an owner's representative signs off, each with different questions about capability, schedule, cost and risk. Our job is to give each of them a clear answer where they look, from Palma de Mallorca, one of the Mediterranean's established refit and maintenance hubs.

In depth

A calendar set by yard periods, shows and one working language

Marine demand follows the yacht's calendar, not the marketer's. Yard periods are planned months ahead and mostly fall outside the cruising season, the major shows compress a year of conversations into a few days, and almost all of it happens in English. Marketing has to be visible before planning starts.

So capability, facility and lead-time pages need to be live and indexed before captains and managers draw up next season's works list, and each show needs its own campaign: meeting requests beforehand, short films during and a structured follow-up within days. We write English first and natively, add Spanish for local suppliers, institutions and recruitment, and let international SEO decide which other languages your enquiries justify.

AI assistants now help write the shortlist

More professional buyers now use an AI assistant to widen or check a supplier list. A yacht manager can ask which yards can haul a vessel of a given length in the western Mediterranean and receive a shortlist with reasons. Whether you are on it depends on what the assistant can read about you.

There is no trick. Google says its AI features, AI Overviews and AI Mode, require nothing beyond being indexed and eligible to show a snippet, and names original, first-hand, expert content as the most influential long-term factor. For a marine company, that means publishing what only you know.

Beyond Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity use their own crawlers, and a site can block them unnoticed: since 1 July 2025, Cloudflare has blocked known AI crawlers by default and asks new domains to choose. Blocking GPTBot, OpenAI's training crawler, does not remove you from ChatGPT search; blocking OAI-SearchBot does. This is the work of GEO: nobody can guarantee a mention, but presence can be tested and improved, as we explain in how to appear in ChatGPT.

  • What you do, for which sizes and types of vessel, and where.
  • Facilities and capacity, in figures that can be checked.
  • Approvals, authorised service agreements and memberships you genuinely hold.
  • Named people with roles and experience, and a direct way to reach them.

Proving capability when the work is confidential

Most of the best marine work cannot be shown with a name on it. Owners expect discretion, contracts restrict photography and a yacht's identity is rarely yours to publish. Good superyacht marketing proves capability without breaching that trust: it shows process, people, facilities and technical detail.

Film does this well. A short documentary of a paint job, a shaft alignment or a teak deck being laid shows method and standards with no vessel identified. Our audiovisual team clears every frame with you before release, and digital PR takes technical articles signed by your engineers to the trade press.

Where cameras are not allowed, 3D and motion take over. A stabiliser or a hybrid propulsion layout is easier to grasp as an animated cutaway than as a data sheet. The AI creative studio produces these visuals and labels any AI-generated imagery that could pass for real footage.

Measuring a sales cycle that lasts months

Good measurement in this sector connects marketing to quotes and signed work, not to clicks. Enquiries are few, valuable and slow: months can pass between a first visit and a contract, and much of the influence happens in conversations no tool records. We track what can be tracked and say plainly what cannot.

The base is a CRM in which every enquiry carries its source, the value quoted and the outcome, with marketing automation keeping contacts warm between yard periods. Above it sit the visibility signals: since 31 August 2026, Search Console has reported impressions in AI Overviews and AI Mode without clicks, and Bing Webmaster Tools shows citations in Copilot. Website analytics run with consent and Consent Mode v2.

  • Qualified enquiries by service line, vessel size and country.
  • Quotes issued and their value, by original source.
  • Time from first contact to quote, and from quote to decision.
  • Repeat work and referrals from existing clients.

Industry challenges

The challenges of marketing to the yachting industry

  1. A small, mobile audience

Decision-makers change vessel, role and country often, so broad campaigns waste budget.

  2. Reputation travels by word of mouth

A recommendation between captains or engineers outweighs any advert. Marketing has to make that reputation verifiable online.

  3. Confidential work

The projects that prove you best are often the ones you cannot name or photograph.

  4. Long, shared decisions

Captain, chief engineer, management company and owner's representative all weigh in over months.

  5. Technical services that are hard to explain

Engineering sold through data sheets and jargon is hard to compare for non-specialist decision-makers.

Key channels

The channels where marine buyers look

Six surfaces where buyers find you, check you or come back.

  1. Google Search and AI answers

Organic results, AI Overviews and AI Mode answer searches by service, location and company name. As of October 2026, AI Overviews appear in more than 200 markets.

  2. AI assistants

ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity and Claude build shortlists from your site and third-party sources. ChatGPT has shown contextual ads in Spain since August 2026, on its Free and Go plans; test it with care in niche B2B.

  3. LinkedIn

Where yacht managers, shipyards and suppliers follow one another. Posts by your experts and formats such as Thought Leader Ads reach defined roles.

  4. Trade press, directories and shows

Where a reputation is confirmed, and a source for what AI assistants say about you.

  5. Google Maps and Business Profile

Crew arriving in a new port search for services near the dock. A complete, current profile helps you appear there.

  6. Email and WhatsApp

The owned channels for quotes, progress updates and staying in touch between seasons, always with consent.

Action plan

Our playbook for marine and superyacht services

Six workstreams, combined to fit your services, markets and calendar.

  1. International search foundations

An English-first site structured by service, vessel type and location, with native copy and correct hreflang.

  2. Trade press and authority

Technical articles, comment and news in the marine trade press and industry directories. Coverage is earned, never bought.

  3. LinkedIn and paid social by role

Campaigns aimed at defined roles, companies and regions, with posts from your own experts and consent-based retargeting.

  4. Films of the real work

Documentary-style films of processes, facilities and teams, cleared for confidentiality, with cuts for web, shows and social media.

  5. 3D, motion and technical visuals

Animated cutaways and motion explainers for systems that cannot be filmed, within your brand guidelines and with AI use disclosed.

  6. CRM and long-cycle follow-up

A pipeline that records every enquiry and its source, with post-show sequences and seasonal reminders.

Customer journey

The buyer's journey, from works list to repeat work

Four stages, each with its own question and channel.

  1. Phase 01 / 04

    A need appears

A survey, a breakdown, the season's works list or a crew change. The first names come from colleagues.

  2. Phase 02 / 04

    Research and validation

Search engines, AI assistants, LinkedIn and the trade press widen or confirm the list. Buyers look for evidence and consistency.

  3. Phase 03 / 04

    Quote and decision

Several stakeholders compare scope, schedule and risk. A fast, well-documented reply often decides it.

  4. Phase 04 / 04

    Delivery and return

Progress updates, a clean handover and useful contact afterwards turn one project into repeat work and referrals.

Regulation

Rules that shape marine marketing

What we apply by default; this is not legal advice.

  1. AI disclosure and AI imagery

Article 50 of the EU AI Act has applied since 2 August 2026: chatbots and voice agents must say they are AI, and AI-generated or manipulated images and video that could pass as real must be disclosed.

  2. Email and cookies

Spain's LSSI prohibits unsolicited commercial email without a prior request or express consent, except to existing customers about similar products, with an easy opt-out. No analytics or advertising cookies load before consent (AEPD guide).

  3. Environmental claims

Directive (EU) 2024/825, applicable since 27 September 2026, bans generic claims such as 'eco' or 'green' without recognised excellent environmental performance. We hold B2B marine copy to the same standard: specific, evidenced statements.

  4. Confidentiality and sector rules

Before publishing we check NDAs, image rights and client approval. Rules tied to your activity, such as flag, class, port or safety requirements, are reviewed with your advisers for each campaign; we never assume them.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does a marine marketing agency do?

A marine marketing agency, also called a maritime or yacht marketing agency, helps companies in the sector win qualified enquiries: an English-first website, visibility in search and AI answers, LinkedIn and trade press, film and 3D that explain technical work, and a CRM for long sales cycles.

How is superyacht marketing different from other B2B marketing?

The audience is smaller, more mobile and more reliant on personal recommendation, the work is often confidential, and the calendar is fixed by the cruising season and the shows. Proof, precision and timing matter more than volume.

Which marine companies do you work with?

Our work is built for B2B companies across the sector: refit and repair yards, subcontractors, marine technology and equipment manufacturers, crew and training agencies, provisioning and supply companies, yacht agents, marinas and suppliers to brokers and management firms.

Can you get ChatGPT or Google's AI answers to recommend us?

Nobody can guarantee that, and no platform sells it. What helps is a site open to AI crawlers, specific first-hand content and earned coverage in trusted industry sources. We measure presence with real prompts and the AI reports in Search Console and Bing.

How do we show our work when projects are under NDA?

By showing how you work rather than whom you work for: processes, facilities, people, anonymised project notes and technical explainers in film or 3D, all cleared with you before release.

Do you work with marine companies outside Mallorca?

Yes. We are based in Palma de Mallorca and offer our services as a marine advertising agency across Spain and internationally. We report regularly, as set out in our method, and we promise no results.
