What it is
When video and audio advertising make sense
Video and audio advertising make sense when you need people to know you before they search: a new product, a new market or an offer easier to grasp on screen or by ear. For a business in Mallorca or elsewhere in Spain, YouTube is the natural start: reach, vertical and horizontal formats, and Google Ads measurement.
A hotel reaching travellers in Germany or the UK before they book, a consumer brand launching a collection or a SaaS firm explaining its product all gain from video that builds demand; when that demand searches, Google Ads captures it.
Connected TV puts that video on the living-room screen, and streaming audio stays with your audience while they do something else. Both extend reach, but they are later steps, not the starting point. We explain why they are growing in the future of digital marketing.

YouTube through Demand Gen: Shorts, in-stream and in-feed in one campaign
Demand Gen is the Google Ads campaign built to create demand with video and images: one campaign covering YouTube Shorts, in-stream and in-feed, plus Discover, Gmail, the Display Network and Google Maps, with channel controls over placement.
Video Action Campaigns were upgraded to Demand Gen; reach campaigns remain for pure awareness. With EEA traffic, missing consent signals mean no audiences or remarketing, so our analytics and tracking team sets up measurement first.
- Shorts: vertical, fast-paced, message up front.
- In-stream: horizontal, brand visible from the start.
- In-feed: a thumbnail and title that invite a view, ideal for demos.

Connected TV (CTV) and programmatic: when they pay off
CTV advertising shows video ads on internet-connected televisions, inside streaming apps and video platforms. Outside YouTube, it is usually bought programmatically: demand-side platforms (DSPs) buy display, video and audio space automatically, bidding in real time or through private deals with each publisher.
The first step is often already in your account: YouTube is watched on televisions too, and Google Ads lets you include or exclude TV screens in device targeting. The next step up is ad-supported streaming: in Spain, Netflix has offered a plan with ads since November 2022 and Disney+ since November 2023, and Prime Video has shown ads since April 2024. Access to their inventory varies by platform and market.
CTV pays off with enough budget, brand campaigns in specific markets, such as the home countries of your international customers, and a need to cap frequency across channels, backed by inclusion lists, invalid traffic filters and viewability measurement. For most SMEs, YouTube and paid social balance reach, control and measurement better.
A television isn't a screen people click on, so we judge CTV on lift studies, which compare people who saw the ad with a group who didn't, not on clicks or views. With enough volume, we add incrementality tests through marketing measurement, as our guide to marketing mix modelling explains.

Streaming audio and podcasts: Spotify, YouTube Music and sponsorships
Streaming audio advertising places short spots between songs and inside podcasts, when your audience isn't looking at a screen: commuting, at the gym or cooking. It reinforces recall for a brand already visible elsewhere; it doesn't replace video or search.
In Spain there are three main routes, as of October 2026. Spotify offers a self-serve platform, Spotify Ads Manager, with audio, video and podcast formats, plus programmatic buying through Spotify Ad Exchange. Google Ads includes audio ads for people who use YouTube and YouTube Music to listen, not to watch. And there is direct podcast sponsorship, with a host-read mention identified as advertising, negotiated show by show.
Sponsorship fits when a show's audience matches your customer, for example in specialist fields such as tech and SaaS. If you want your own podcast or video podcast, our video production team produces it and these same campaigns distribute it.

Video and audio creative: formats, languages and subtitles
In video, creative matters more than targeting: vertical and horizontal versions, early branding, subtitles for sound-off viewing and native language versions, not literal dubs. On television the ad plays full screen with sound; in audio, voice and script carry everything.
We adapt existing footage or plan new shoots with our video production team, scripting cut-downs from the start, with messaging true to your brand identity. Variants by format, language and audience come from our AI creative studio, always with human sign-off.

What it is not
What this service is not
- Not right for every SME: on a small budget, search usually pays back sooner.
- We don't guarantee views, listens, reach or awareness.
- We don't buy views or low-quality traffic.
- Not a substitute for search: video and audio build demand that other channels capture.
What we measure
How we measure a video or audio campaign
Views and retention
View rate and how far viewers watch.
Engaged views
Views long enough to count as engaged, and the conversions that follow.
Reach and frequency
Unique reach and how often people see or hear you, by market.
Completed listens
For audio, impressions served and spots heard to the end.
Assisted conversions and lift studies
The role of video and audio in later conversions, plus Brand Lift studies where volume allows.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to advertise on YouTube?
There is no set rate: you choose the budget and pay Google, for impressions or views, or by bidding for conversions. YouTube advertising works on moderate budgets, but the real cost includes adapting or producing video for each format and language.
What is connected TV (CTV) advertising?
Video ads shown on internet-connected TVs, inside streaming apps and platforms such as YouTube. CTV advertising pairs the big screen with digital targeting and measurement, and suits brand campaigns with enough budget.
What are Demand Gen campaigns in Google Ads?
Visual campaigns showing video and images on YouTube, Discover, Gmail, the Display Network and Google Maps, with placement controls. They replaced Video Action Campaigns.
Can you advertise on Spotify and podcasts in Spain?
Yes. As of October 2026, Spotify offers a self-serve ads platform in Spain with audio, video and podcast formats, and Google Ads runs audio ads on YouTube and YouTube Music. You can also sponsor a specific podcast. Podcast advertising works best as brand reinforcement, not as your only channel.
Do I need a professional video to advertise on YouTube?
Not always. A simple video adapted to the format can beat an expensive production made for another channel. What matters is hooking viewers in the first seconds and showing the brand early.
Is programmatic advertising right for a small business?
Rarely as a first step. Programmatic advertising is the automated buying of ad space across many publishers at once. YouTube, search and paid social give more control for less spend; programmatic pays off with budget, a brand objective and several markets.
