What it is

UX, UI and accessibility: one job

A UI UX design agency shapes how your digital product works and looks. UX, or user experience, maps the path to find, book or pay; UI, the user interface, shapes every screen and button. Accessibility makes sure both work for everyone.

That's why one team handles all three: an interface that confuses loses customers, and one that fails with a keyboard or screen reader may breach the law. We start by watching real people and finish with a design system and a remediation plan.

For a complete new website, start with web design. Here we improve what exists: a booking flow, customer portal, app, landing page or an online shop checkout.

In depth

Accessibility law: who it covers and who is exempt

Since 28 June 2025, Spain's Law 11/2023, which transposes the European Accessibility Act, has required consumer e-commerce services, among others, to be accessible. Micro-enterprises providing services are exempt: fewer than 10 staff and turnover or balance sheet up to €2 million.

The reference standard, EN 301 549, builds on WCAG, and we work to WCAG 2.2 level AA. A web accessibility audit pairs automated tools with manual keyboard and screen-reader testing and ranks every issue by severity. This isn't legal advice: your adviser confirms whether you're in scope.

In depth

Honest, responsive interfaces that AI agents can read

Good interfaces help people decide without deception. The EU Digital Services Act bans deceptive designs, or dark patterns, on online platforms, and we apply that rule everywhere. In cookie banners, per the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD), 'reject' sits on the same layer and level as 'accept'.

Speed matters too: INP, the Core Web Vital for how fast a page reacts to taps, clicks and key presses, should stay under 200 milliseconds. And Google's AI search guide notes that browser agents may read screenshots, the DOM and the accessibility tree, so named buttons, labelled fields and clear states help a screen reader and an agent alike.

The SERMAN approach

Why choose SERMAN for UX/UI

  1. Accessible from the first sketch

Every component starts with the right contrast, focus and labels.

  2. Design tied to data

Connected to analytics and conversion rate optimisation.

  3. Genuinely bilingual

Interfaces and testing in English and Spanish.

What it is not

What this service is not

  • Not an accessibility overlay promising compliance in one line of code: accessibility is designed, built and tested.
  • Not legal advice on your specific case.
  • Not a cosmetic refresh without data.
  • Not an audit without follow-up: a retest is included.

What we measure

How we measure whether the interface works

Before and after each change, no promised figures.

  1. Task success

Who completes each key task in testing, and how quickly.

  2. Accessibility issues

Open and resolved, by severity and WCAG criterion.

  3. Flow conversion

Forms, bookings or purchases step by step, with reliable analytics.

  4. Responsiveness

INP and visual stability from real-user data.

Who it's for

A particularly good fit if…

  • You sell online to consumers and aren't sure you meet accessibility law.
  • Your app, SaaS platform or customer portal triggers support calls.
  • Your form, booking or checkout loses people.
  • Every screen looks like a different brand.

Compliance

Rules we apply by default

Not legal advice.

  1. Accessibility (Law 11/2023)

Required since 28 June 2025 for consumer e-commerce, with micro-enterprises providing services exempt.

  2. Deceptive design (DSA)

Banned on online platforms; we never use it.

  3. Cookie consent

'Reject' on the same layer and level as 'accept', per the AEPD.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does a UI UX design agency do?

It researches how people use your site or product, redesigns the journeys and screens that hold them back, and documents a design system. We add accessibility, now a legal duty for many online shops.

What's the difference between UX and UI?

UX is the whole experience: understanding the offer, finding what you need and finishing the task. UI is the visible layer: typography, colour, buttons and icons. We design them together.

What is the European Accessibility Act and who does it affect?

It's the EU accessibility law Spain applies through Law 11/2023. Since 28 June 2025 it has covered consumer e-commerce services, among others, except micro-enterprises providing services. Check your case with your adviser.

Does my website have to meet WCAG?

If you're in scope, the reference standard, EN 301 549, builds on WCAG. If not, WCAG 2.2 AA is still the most reliable way to make your site work for everyone.

What does a web accessibility audit include?

Automated testing, manual keyboard and screen-reader review, checks on contrast, forms, media and critical journeys, and a report with each issue, its severity and its fix, then a retest.

Does an accessible website convert better?

Nobody can guarantee figures, but many accessibility barriers slow everyone down: small buttons, low contrast, unclear errors. Remove them and more people finish the task; we measure the effect.
