A food and beverage marketing agency for brands with real provenance

We are a food and beverage marketing agency for wineries, olive oil producers and gourmet brands selling at home and abroad: a provenance story you can prove, native content in each market's language, and products that people, search engines and AI assistants can find.

Context

How people choose a wine, an olive oil or a gourmet product today

Food and beverage marketing now means making your product easy to understand, find and buy wherever someone discovers, compares and decides: a search, an AI assistant's answer, a video, a marketplace listing, a restaurant menu or your own online shop. Buyers rarely meet you for the first time in the place where they pay.

In 2026 discovery increasingly starts with a full question. Someone asks Google, ChatGPT or Gemini for an extra virgin olive oil to give as a gift or a white wine for a rice dish, and gets a shortlist with reasons. They then compare origin, method, price, reviews and delivery terms across your site, marketplaces and specialist shops, and buy wherever doubt is lowest.

This approach is built for wineries, olive mills, gourmet producers and food and drink brands, many of them export-led. As a food and drink marketing agency based in Palma de Mallorca, we work with brands from the Balearics, mainland Spain and abroad. Restaurants are covered under hospitality and travel.

Provenance as a brand: a story you can prove

Provenance is the strongest asset a food or drink brand has, provided it is told with facts. The estate, the variety, the method and the people behind the product are first-hand content nobody can copy, and Google names such unique content as the most influential long-term factor in its AI search.

The work starts with brand strategy: what sets you apart, who you address in each market and how your voice sounds in each language. Then photography and video of the estate, the process and the product in use supply the proof.

Claims are checked before publication: Directive (EU) 2024/825, applicable since 27 September 2026, bans generic environmental claims such as 'eco' or 'sustainable' without recognised excellent environmental performance.

  • Where and how it is made: estate, varieties, harvest and method.
  • Who makes it: the people and the craft behind the product.
  • What vouches for it: designations of origin and certifications you genuinely hold.

Exporting means speaking several languages and calendars

Selling abroad calls for research into how each market searches, not a translated website. An importer, a sommelier or a consumer in another country uses different words, compares you with different brands and buys on different dates. Each language needs its own keywords and native copy.

International SEO brings order: a language and country structure, reciprocal hreflang tags and product pages adapted to each market's questions, from pairings to delivery. We work natively in English and Spanish; other languages are decided by your sales and search data.

The calendar matters as much as the language. Christmas and corporate gifting, harvest, trade fairs and the tourist season concentrate demand into short windows, so content and campaigns must be ready months ahead. Mallorca adds visitors who discover a product on a trip and want to reorder it from home.

AI assistants in the buying decision

AI assistants already influence which products make the shortlist. In Spain, Google has shown AI Overviews since March 2025 and AI Mode in Spanish since October 2025, and many people ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity what to buy. Nobody can guarantee a place in those answers; eligibility can be improved and measured.

Google says there are no special requirements beyond SEO best practice, and notes that Merchant Center feeds and Google Business Profiles help products and businesses appear in AI responses. So GEO work starts with product data: name, variety, format, price, availability and delivery terms, identical on your site, in your feed and on marketplaces.

We also check that your server and CDN are not blocking AI crawlers, and measure with official tools such as Search Console's generative AI reports, which show impressions, not clicks. As of October 2026, checkout delegated to AI agents is rolling out first in the United States; here the priority is agent-ready commerce.

Your own shop, marketplaces and honest measurement

Your own shop and marketplaces do not compete: they do different jobs. Your shop gives you margin, customer data and a direct relationship; marketplaces give reach among people who do not know you yet; distribution and restaurants bring volume. A good plan sets each channel's role and measures its cost of sale.

The online shop must handle formats, gift sets, subscriptions and delivery costs by destination. On marketplaces and retail media, the work lies in listings, images, reviews and advertising inside each platform, starting with Amazon.

Good measurement connects visibility to sales without crediting one channel for another's work, using analytics that respect consent. We track sales and margin by channel and market, repeat purchase and trade enquiries. We do not promise figures; we commit to showing you what works.

Industry challenges

The challenges of marketing food, wine and gourmet brands

  1. Provenance is hard to show on a screen

Taste cannot be sampled online. Without images, data and a specific story, a distinctive product ends up competing on price.

  2. Reliance on intermediaries

Distributors, supermarkets and marketplaces bring volume but keep the relationship and the customer data.

  3. Several markets, one small team

Each country needs its own language, vocabulary and dates. Translation alone does not earn visibility or trust.

  4. Demand packed into a few weeks

Christmas, gifting, harvest and the tourist season require content, stock and campaigns planned months ahead.

  5. Advertising and claims under scrutiny

Alcohol advertising is restricted by regulation and platform policies, and environmental claims need evidence.

  6. Logistics that shape the sale

Weight, fragility and destination affect cost and delivery time. Left unexplained, they empty the basket.

Key channels

The channels where a purchase is decided

Six surfaces where your product is discovered, compared or bought again.

  1. Search and Google Shopping

Product, pairing, gift and brand searches in each language, fed by product pages and a Merchant Center feed.

  2. AI assistants

Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity recommend products with reasons, drawing on clear data and first-hand content.

  3. Marketplaces and retail media

Amazon and retailers' own platforms are both shop window and search engine. Listings, reviews and ads decide who shows first.

  4. Social media and creators

Instagram, TikTok and YouTube show the product in use: recipes, tastings and visits. Creator partnerships must be disclosed as advertising.

  5. Maps and visits

Google Maps and your Google Business Profile bring nearby people, including visitors to the island, to the winery, shop or tasting.

  6. Email and WhatsApp

The repeat-purchase channel: new vintages, restocks, clubs and gifts, only with prior consent and an easy opt-out.

Action plan

Our playbook for food, wine and gourmet brands

Six workstreams, combined to fit your product, markets and stage.

  1. Brand and provenance story

Positioning, voice, identity and messages by market, built on verifiable facts: estate, variety, method and people.

  2. International SEO and AI answers

Research per language, country structure, hreflang and citable content, so search engines and assistants understand what you sell and where.

  3. A shop that sells and retains

Complete product pages, gift sets, subscriptions, clear delivery by destination and a fast, accessible checkout.

  4. Marketplaces and retail media

Listings, images and brand content on Amazon and the platforms where you already sell, with advertising judged on margin.

  5. Creators and real content

Partnerships with chefs, sommeliers and like-minded creators, chosen on data and always disclosed as advertising.

  6. Provenance video and photography

Shoots on the estate, in the winery and in the kitchen, in formats made for the site, marketplaces, social and ads.

Customer journey

The buyer's journey, step by step

Each stage raises a different question and has a channel that answers it.

  1. Phase 01 / 05

    Discovery

An AI assistant's recommendation, a video, a restaurant dish or a visit to the island sparks interest. Your brand needs a story of its own.

  2. Phase 02 / 05

    Research

The buyer looks up the product, its origin and how to use it. Detailed, original answers in their language win.

  3. Phase 03 / 05

    Comparison

Price, format, reviews and delivery are weighed across your site, marketplaces and specialist shops. The details must match everywhere.

  4. Phase 04 / 05

    Purchase

A complete product page, costs shown before payment and a fast mobile checkout; for trade buyers, a clear route to contact.

  5. Phase 05 / 05

    Repeat and recommend

The unboxing, a timely message and a reason to reorder turn an order into a customer, and a customer into an advocate.

Regulation

Rules that shape food and drink marketing

Checked by default; not a substitute for legal advice.

  1. Alcohol advertising

Alcohol advertising is limited by Spanish regulation and by each platform's policies, which vary by format and market. We review both, and age targeting, before every campaign. As of October 2026, for example, Google excludes alcohol from ads inside AI Overviews in the countries where that format runs, which do not include Spain.

  2. Creators and influencers

Spain's self-regulatory influencer advertising code (AUTOCONTROL, AEA and IAB Spain), updated and applicable since 1 October 2025, requires ads to be identifiable from the start and makes brands and agencies share responsibility. Royal Decree 444/2024 adds duties for high-reach creators, including restrictions on alcohol advertising.

  3. Environmental claims

Directive (EU) 2024/825, applicable since 27 September 2026 (Spain's transposition was then incomplete), bans generic claims such as 'eco', 'green' or 'sustainable' without recognised excellent environmental performance, and uncertified sustainability labels. We use specific, evidenced statements.

  4. Accessible shop, cookies and email

Spain's Law 11/2023 has required accessible consumer e-commerce since 28 June 2025 (micro-enterprises exempt). No analytics or advertising cookies before consent (AEPD guide), and marketing emails only with prior consent or an existing customer relationship (LSSI).

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What does a food and beverage marketing agency do?

A food and beverage marketing agency helps producers and brands become known, stand out and sell, at home and abroad. The work covers brand and provenance, visibility in search and AI assistants, the online shop, marketplaces, creators, video and measurement.

Do you work as a winery marketing agency?

Yes. As a wine marketing agency we combine brand, content on varieties and winemaking, multilingual SEO, an online shop or wine club, visits and tastings visible on Google Maps, and campaigns checked against alcohol advertising rules.

Can wine and other alcoholic drinks be advertised online?

Yes, within limits. Alcohol advertising is restricted by regulation and by each platform's policies, which vary by format, country and audience age. We review every campaign before launch and lean on owned channels: content, search and email.

Is it better to sell through our own shop or on marketplaces?

Most brands combine both. Your own shop brings margin, data and a customer relationship; marketplaces bring reach. The balance depends on your product, margins and logistics, as explained in ecommerce.

How do we get ChatGPT or Google to recommend our products?

No formula or payment guarantees it. Your chances improve with an indexable site open to AI crawlers, complete and consistent product data, first-hand content on origin and method, genuine reviews and mentions in trusted media. Presence is tracked with real queries and the AI reports in Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.

Which languages and markets do you cover?

Those of your real markets. Your sales and search data decide which countries deserve their own content. English and Spanish are handled natively; other languages are planned by market weight.
