What it is

What branding is and what it includes

Branding is the work of deciding what your brand stands for, how it speaks and how it looks, then applying that consistently at every touchpoint. It goes far beyond a logo: positioning, naming, verbal and visual identity, brand guidelines and the rollout across your website, social channels and documents.

When AI can produce ads, copy and images in seconds, content is no longer scarce; a recognisable, consistent brand is. And when someone asks an AI assistant about businesses like yours, the answer is assembled from what your website and other sources say about you.

As a creative agency in Mallorca, we build new brands, rebrands and systems for brands that have outgrown their identity. The brand then carries the same rules into web design, social media and content marketing.

Brand strategy: positioning, naming and voice

A strong brand starts with a decision: what place you want to hold in your customer's mind, and why they should choose you. We define positioning, value proposition, personality and key messages, aligned with your digital strategy so that brand and acquisition tell the same story.

For naming, we propose options against clear criteria and run preliminary checks on trademarks, domains and social handles; your IP adviser handles registration. The verbal identity is written natively in English and Spanish: the same character, not a translation.

  • Positioning and value proposition by segment.
  • Name and brand architecture, if you run several lines or products.
  • Tone of voice, key messages and a glossary in English and Spanish.

In depth

A visual identity is the set of elements that makes your brand recognisable before anyone reads the name: logo and variants, colour, typography, iconography, photography style and motion. We design a flexible system that works on a phone screen, in a vertical video, on signage and in print.

We check colour contrast and legibility against WCAG from the first sketch, because accessibility can't be bolted on later. We also define motion principles, such as rhythm, transitions and logo animation, so the brand moves consistently on the web, on social and in video.

A brand that AI also understands

Search engines and AI assistants describe your brand from what they find on your website, profiles and third-party sources. If your name or details vary from place to place, the description can get muddled, so we design your brand to be read unambiguously by machines too.

That means one name and description everywhere, Organization markup with sameAs links to your official profiles, and consistent details in Google Business Profile and directories, which Google says help services appear in its AI responses. Visibility in those answers is developed through GEO, and what others say about you through online reputation management.

Brand AI kit: produce more without losing consistency

Your team and suppliers already create copy and images with AI, and without rules every piece has a different tone. The brand AI kit combines a prompt library, tone-of-voice guardrails and approved assets so AI-assisted output still sounds like you, always with human review.

Transparency is part of the brand too. Since 2 August 2026, the EU AI Act has required deepfakes (realistic images, audio or video that could pass as genuine) to be disclosed as AI-generated or manipulated. We apply that to campaigns and to video production.

Rollout: taking the brand to every touchpoint

A brand only exists once it's applied. We prioritise touchpoints by impact: first the website, profiles and everyday templates, then signage, packaging, uniforms and presentations, with editable templates so your team doesn't depend on us.

In a rebrand, we plan the transition to keep recognition and visibility: telling customers, updating profiles together and, if the domain changes, redirects planned through technical SEO.

The SERMAN approach

Why build your brand with SERMAN

  1. Bilingual from the start

Name, voice and messages designed for English and Spanish from day one.

  2. Ready for AI

Consistent brand data and a kit that keeps AI output within your rules.

  3. Designed for screens and motion

Graphic design that works on mobile, video and web, accessible from the first sketch.

What it is not

What our branding isn't

  • Not just a logo or a bundle of loose templates.
  • Not trademark registration: we run preliminary checks, and your adviser files with Spain's OEPM or the EUIPO.
  • Not an AI-generated logo handed over without strategy or checks.
  • Not a promise of sales or awareness: a strong brand improves your odds; it doesn't guarantee results.

What we measure

How we measure the strength of your brand

Brands can be measured too: through demand, consistency and perception, with no promised figures.

  1. Branded search

Trends in Search Console and Google Trends.

  2. Direct and returning traffic

Visits that arrive without intermediaries, and customers who come back.

  3. Description in AI assistants

Regular checks of how ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and AI Overviews present you.

  4. Consistency in use

Touchpoints audited against the brand guidelines.

  5. Creative performance

Response to work carrying the new identity in ads and on social.

Who it's for

A particularly good fit if…

  • You're launching a company, a product or a new line of business.
  • Your brand no longer reflects who you are, what you offer or what you charge.
  • You run a hotel, restaurant, clinic, food or wine brand, online shop or tech company, premium and luxury brands included.
  • Every supplier applies your brand differently and nothing looks like the same company.
  • AI assistants describe your business inaccurately or vaguely.

Compliance

Messaging and design within the law

What we check by default; not a substitute for legal advice.

  1. Environmental claims

Since 27 September 2026, EU rules have banned generic claims such as ‘eco’, ‘green’ or ‘sustainable’ without recognised excellent environmental performance, and carbon-neutral claims based on offsetting. Brand messages must be specific and provable.

  2. AI-generated content

Article 50 of the EU AI Act, applicable since 2 August 2026, requires deepfakes to be labelled. We record which brand assets were made with AI.

  3. Accessibility

Spain's Law 11/2023 has required accessible consumer e-commerce since 28 June 2025 (micro-enterprises exempt); we choose colours and typefaces with sufficient contrast.

  4. Rights and licences

Typefaces, images and music with verified licences, and the economic rights in the design assigned to your company.

Industries

Where we apply it

  • Food, Wine & Gourmet Brands

Provenance-led branding, international SEO, DTC shops, marketplaces and AI visibility for wineries, olive oil producers and food and drink brands.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is branding and why does it matter?

It's defining what your brand stands for, how it speaks and how it looks, and applying that consistently. It helps people recognise, remember and choose you beyond price, and helps search engines and AI assistants describe you correctly.

What does a brand identity service include?

Typically an audit, a brand platform, naming where needed, verbal and visual identity (logo, colour, typography, icons and photography), brand guidelines and templates. Ours adds bilingual verbal identity, consistent brand data for AI and a brand AI kit.

How much does it cost to create a brand?

It depends on scope: whether you need naming, how many languages and markets, the depth of the visual system, the number of applications and whether motion or video is involved. After a first meeting we send a proposal detailing every deliverable.

When is the right time to rebrand?

When your brand no longer reflects what you offer, when you enter new markets or languages, after a merger or change of ownership, or when the identity has fragmented. Sometimes a refresh is enough, and as a rebranding agency we'll tell you so.

What is the difference between a logo and a visual identity?

The logo is the brand's signature; the visual identity is the full system: colours, typefaces, icons, photography, layout and motion. A good logo without a system still produces inconsistent work.

Can you use AI to design a logo?

It's useful for exploring ideas quickly, but a logo needs strategy, originality, vector versions and trademark checks. We use AI in exploration; people design and review the final mark, and we tell you where AI was used.

Can a branding agency in Mallorca work with businesses elsewhere?

Yes. We're based in Palma de Mallorca and can work with businesses across Spain and abroad, in English or Spanish, with workshops in person or remotely.
